Pocono SAR and Northeast SAR joined together to perform an Ice rescue joint training drill off of Wigwam Park Rd in Stroud Township Monroe County.

The teams engaged in several simulated scenarios in which a person has fallen through the ice and requires rescuing.

PSAR members spent the day refreshing their land navigation skills starting from simple concepts of obtaining a compass bearing to more complex skills such as taking bearings from a map, using UTM coordinates, and plotting points on a map. 

The second session of training was a refresher of Rope Rescue hardware and knots.
