A prospective member for PSAR must submit an Application for membership, a PA State Police Criminal Background Check, a Child Abuse clearance check and submit cash or a check made payable to PSAR in the amount of $25.

The appplication is read at 2 consecutive business meetings. It is read for the first time as an applicant, voted on, then read as a Probationary Member at the second meeting and voted on.
The Probationary Member then serves a (6) SIX month probationary term where the applicant must complete a set criteria of classes. After the classes are fulfilled and the probationery term is met, the Probationary Member is the voted on for ACTIVE Member status.

Applicants need no experience when they apply and nearly all of the training is free of charge.

March 2, 2012 PSAR was called to assist in a search for a missing 82 y/o man. Searches continued March 3rd and 4th in Stroud Township.

State Police say a 25 year old male went missing Monday night from his home on Forest Road in Jefferson Township. Dozens of First Responders and Firefighters searched for and found him unharmed around 5pm Tuesday.
